612 Residence

Seattle, Washington

Located in the Phinney Ridge Neighborhood of Seattle, this second story addition fits within the neighborhood, but uses contemporary detailing and sustainable ideas throughout it's execution.

Revealing the fir floors of the original 1908 house, the entire first floor has been opened up to make a small house feel large. A large sliding door opens up the back yard to the dining room, giving a strong connection to the outdoors on a small lot.

Sustainable ideas are carried throughout the house, resulting in reduced heating bills despite the expanded square footage.

Bamboo floors, high efficiency furnace, Paperstone countertops, dual flush toilets, cisterns, high efficiency windows, and dimmable light fixtures are some of the Green ideas used throughout the house to reduce the carbon footprint for urban dwelling.
